SP21-01 – The Old Testament with Christ Focused Eyes - Men's Bible Study

  • Instructor: Pastor Paul Abeyta
  • Meeting Info: Ongoing (until we go through every OT book) - Wednesdays: 6:00am - 7:00am (ish) @FFC
  • Description: In this class you will go over key texts in the Old Testament that contain shadows and types of Christ and his work of redemption. Truly, the whole Bible is on the topic of Christ and his work of redemption. We can make a line from any text to this, and we should. But there are also many events which happened in the recorded biblical history that remind us Christ in a special way. It is often called the "Apostolic Hermeneutic" and reading the Bible in this way will help to grow you in Christ and your love for the gospel. Essentially - we are trying to learn to read the Old Testament with this question in our minds - 'what does this teach me about Christ, or help me to understand his work of redemption.' Each week, a new verse or passage will be assigned. The group will open with prayer, asking God to make us holy men and give us grace to lead in our homes and follow him where he has us. Then we'll discuss the text and spend a few more minutes in prayer. Feel free to join at any time and have some fellowship in the Word before you go to work, or before the rest of your family is even awake possibly.
